Be Here Now

Be Here Now is an open, relaxed format meditation group based on the teachings of Thich Nhat Hanh and the practices of mindfulness - we meet every Monday night starting promptly at 7:30pm and ending at 8:45pm. There is one session of sitting meditation for 20 minutes, followed by walking meditation, a reading, an open sharing circle and closing with a circle for gratitude and healing. The first Monday of every month the mindfulness trainings are read. Be Here Now is open to everyone and is free to attend, donations are always appreciated. No experience necessary.  Feel free to simply come on by and sit with us!

OPEN MIC NIGHTS!

Hooray, our Open Mic Nights have started!

Upcoming Dates:

Saturday December 9th from 7:00-10:00pm
Saturday January 13th from 7:00-10:00pm
Saturday February 17th from 7:00-10:00pm

All forms of creative sharing are welcome and encouraged: poetry, story telling, music, comedy, improv games, show-n-tell, magic... the sky's the limit! Just please note that this is a family friendly event and kids are super welcome to come AND to participate.

Bringing along snacks to share is a super great idea too - just sayin' :)

Come to share or simply come to hang out and be in good company - though we do highly encourage you to share! We all have something to share, so get creative!

Bring your friends and family along! Free & open to attend.

White Elephant Gift Exchange & Ugly Sweater Contest!

We'll start the evening with a regular sitting meditation session and then move into our White Elephant Gift Exchange (with snacks!). AND our 1st annual Ugly Sweater Contest!

So wear your ugliest sweater for a chance to win our ugly sweater trophy!

What to bring:
A wrapped gift of something you've either made or found around the house (we encourage you not to go out and purchase something, although you can if you want to). It can be something silly, practical, or meaningful, it's up to you! We'll have extra gifts on hand too if you forget yours.

What is a White Elephant Gift Exchange?
Everyone brings a wrapped gift and all those gifts go into a pile in the middle of the room. Everyone then picks a slip of paper from a hat with a number written on it. #1 goes first and chooses a gift from the pile and unwraps it. #2 can then either steal #1's gift or pick a new one from the pile. And on it goes until everyone has had a turn. A practice in non-attachment!
